The most common air quality measurement stations only provide outdoor data, which fails to deliver real-time, localized information most relevant to our health. Bosch Sensortec is addressing this issue with its new BMV080, the world’s smallest PM2.5 air quality sensor. The BMV080 sensing element measures merely 4.4 x 3.0 x 3.0 mm³ (W x L x H), which is more than 450 times smaller than any comparable device on the market. The miniscule size and fanless non-intrusive design of the BMV080 are a game-changer.

Environmental sensing with Artificial Intelligence

The BME690 is further developed on BME688, with increased robustness for use in environments with high condensation levels. It can measure gas, humidity, temperature and air pressure simultaneously and is the world's smallest 4-in-1 air quality sensor (3.0 x 3.0 x 0.93 mm³).

The BME690 is ideal for monitoring indoor air quality and can detect Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs) and other gases such as carbon monoxide and hydrogen.

  • Microcontroller: Espressif ESP32-S3-MINI-1 with Xtensa dual-core 32-bit LX7 MCU at 240 MHz, 8 MB of flash memory, 0.5 MB of PSRAM, support for AES, SHA, RSA, ECC, RNG, Secure Boot, Flash Encryption, digital signature, and HMAC module.
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth 5 (LE).
  • Sensors: Bosch BMV080 for PM2.5 particulate matter and Bosch BME690 for temperature, pressure, humidity, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
